OUR STORY
The Heirloom Project was born from a deeply personal journey of healing, faith, and creative expression. Our founder, Desiree Tyler, discovered early on that music, playwriting, acting, and storytelling were more than creative outlets—they were lifelines. In seasons of depression and hardship, creativity became a sacred space to process, to be heard, and to find her way back to hope.
What began as survival became purpose. Desiree believes the gifts placed in her life were not only meant to carry her through difficult times, but to help others do the same. Today, that belief fuels her mission to create spaces where young people can experience healing, growth, and self-expression through the arts.
At The Heirloom Project, we see every young person as an heirloom seed—uniquely gifted, deeply valuable, and full of untapped potential. Just like a seed carries generations of strength and beauty, we believe each child holds something powerful within them waiting to be nurtured.
Through creative programs, camps, and productions, we provide opportunities for kids and teens—especially those who feel unseen or unheard—to discover their voice, build confidence, and develop a sense of identity and purpose. We are committed to cultivating environments where creativity becomes a tool for healing, connection, and transformation.
Our goal is not just to inspire creativity, but to help the next generation grow into who they were created to be—and to carry their gifts forward as lasting legacies of hope.
